Morgan’s Retail will debut the world’s first fully automated, AI-powered retail store in Brooklyn, New York, later this year, a move set to redefine the shopping experience with zero checkouts, no inventory and a Net Zero Energy footprint.
The concept allows customers to simply “scan, tap and go,” with artificial intelligence personalising shopping in real time, recommending products and guiding customers via augmented reality. Store operations, including pricing, inventory, security and even shelf cleaning, will be fully automated through AI.
Sustainability is central to the model, with smart floor sensors converting shoppers’ kinetic energy into electricity to power the store. A zero-inventory approach also aims to cut waste and reduce carbon emissions, setting what the company describes as a new benchmark for eco-friendly retail.
Unlike traditional stores, customers will browse a virtual catalogue through a patented Customer Visualisation Unit, accessing detailed product information on demand. AI-powered analytics will adapt store layouts dynamically based on customer movements and responses to promotions.
Rajeev Lee, Group CEO of Morgan’s Holdings, said the project is “not just solving traditional retail challenges but fundamentally reinventing retail itself.” He added that the model positions the company as a leader in sustainable, tech-driven retail.
With the global retail market projected to hit US$17.1 trillion, the company said the concept addresses rising demand for smarter, faster and greener shopping. Expansion is planned beyond the United States to Southeast Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
